Can the new Baltic airline company outrivel SAS or Norwegian?

Lithuanian Prime Minister A.Butkevicius during his stay in Estonia in 2013 january, said that it would be interesting for the all three Baltic countries to have their own airline company. "I propose the creation of aviation company to carry out a joint project and be able to financially survive, because of having the airline, which, for example, can work profitably only in Lithuania - it is hardly imaginable." Spoke A.Butkevicius.

Lithuania had the aviation company, not too long ago, that went bankrupt. It should be noted that both Latvia and Estonia have their own airlines. But both of them are unprofitable. Latvia is  looking currently for a strategic investor in loss-making airlines "airBaltic". With the growing losses of "Estonian Air" also started discussions in Estonia on "Estonian Air"'s future. It is not clear what  expect Butkevicius, because Latvians certainly will not  establish another company, having considerable trouble with "airBaltic", I do not know maybe this is Estonian company can be bases in the creation of a new company.

On the other hand it was  such ideas before, but no one move from the dead point, it was not even agreed where the airport will be the keyport for the new company. It should also be taken to the mind Butkevičius that it is appropriate to look at the SAS experience. The company are managed by Denmark, Sweden and Norway. And even these rich countries are generally considered to be unable to lift burdens.

In December last year, SAS has got on the verge of bankruptcy. Adoption of the austerity program remote bankruptcy, but the problems have not been substantially resolved.Obviously if they (Baltics) could manage to move off from each country's self-interests, and follow the "Norwegian" or "Wizzair" principles of successful management, the idea can have success. But by far, the Baltic States cooperation has been not so fruitful.
On the other hand, even the slightest effort are welcome  ...
